east valley productions - wedding films

courtney and reese

July 27, 2009  -  Weddings

it's all about energy during a shoot and courtney and reese held it down well during their photo session in the 117 degree heat. no joke. it was toasty.

it also turns out that courtney is a bit of an entrepreneur - she runs a super posh reception hall in downtown mesa call 12 West Main - make sure to check out the info if you are planning a wedding in the near or not so near future.

a little taste of the process

July 23, 2009  -  News

i've been holding out on posting this for a while because things have been really busy. i'm in the post production process of my next hour long documentary entitled "Another Testament", a Reflections of Christ project (trailer and new site coming so very soon). this has been a massive project for me and everyone else involved. just to give you an idea . . . .

- 75 hours of footage shot over 5 days in honduras central america, and then a solid week of interview shooting after
- 50 amazing new images from photographer mark mabry
- locations included copan ruins, honduras , byu museum of arts , and multiple homes of generous individuals in utah and arizona
- robert allen gave a performance that not only helped people really get into the subject matter on location but also shows his reverence for what he does when he gets into costume. amazing.
- soundtrack includes some fully orchestrated pieces composed by jason barney, clyde bawden, and sam cardon
- all shot on the 35mm adapters with Nikon primes (geek factor here)

I could go on and on. there were so many people involved and so many amazing things happened on our trip to Honduras. it was great to be back in Honduras (where I served my mission) and be with the amazingly humble people again. it was also great to be able to work with a small crew this go around to help with the load. special thanks to casey (sound/pa), jared (second camera unit), and mark (held the interviews down tight). and it was especially cool to have rechelle (6 months pregnant at the time) with me to be a part of the process.

here are a few stills from the week long shoot in Copan, Honduras. be on the lookout for the new site and trailer to the documentary dropping real soon.

special thanks to dixie waters photography for all the behind the scenes images.

shooting the first morning at the ruins . . .

casey holding down the sound on the entire location shoot . . .

jared on the hvx making sure all the behind the scenes got logged in. . .

the Honduran's in costume. awesome people. . .

sketchy third world scaffolding . . .

oscar and maria - puros catrachos . . .

agua caliente . . .

6 months pregnant and right in the thick of it . . .

one of the best parts of these shooting trips is getting to hang out with all the cast and crew. last day of the trip - best fruit shakes we've all had anywhere.
