| news flash - i am not a good blogger. if you are looking for the day to day on what's new in my production world then head over to twitter. not sure when that started but it seems to be the place where i share more frequently.
almost a year later and the new reflections project is now on sale with deseret book |
| to celebrate the release and make this post really worth while i'm posting a few shots to show a little more of how the project came together - something i wish more artists did more often. i love watching a film but almost equally important to me is just how they made their ideas come to life. which is a big reason these reflections dvd's do well. people enjoy the process almost as much as the art. if you don't believe me ask the 40 or so people who went down to honduras with us. |
| mark and i spend about 2-3 weeks of doing interviews. a professional would shoot these interviews with at least three assitants - light guy - sound guy - donut guy. i don't ever do that on these projects. for one it kills the atmosphere/spirit of the discussion to have too many people in the room. secondly i don't have budget for all that rif raff for four weeks of interview shoots. |

| love this shot. needed to get mark dialed in mentally to talk about the shoot so i decided to put together a little rough cut of one of the scenes he directed down in honduras. it was cool to watch his demeanor completely change after getting to experience those moments again without having to worry about getting the shot. |

| i broke some new ground on this project and have a few shots and interviews from the canon 5d. a whole separate post coming with my thoughts on that. overall pretty amazing tool that lets you get some amazing images. 5d was definitely put through it's paces on the still and motion side of this project. |

| clyde bawden and i at the scoring session in salt lake. the score for this project is nothing short of epic and amazing. honduras was a great experience - hearing the orchestra live ranks right next to it. |

| this is what my edit bay looks like for 3 months after the shoot has gone down. for some reason editing this project went so much smoother. i'm starting to love the edit process more and more (being organized really helps that). |

| thanks again for all the emails and kind words from those that have seen it. it's awesome to hear good reviews. |
