No weddings in October. One of the secrets to staying fresh in the wedding industry (for me) is to take a break every once in a while - especially with some great weddings coming up in the last few months of 2007.
Taking a break does not mean putting down all things video however. I love to pursue other creative opportunities during my "off" time because they really do keep the juices flowing with lots of fun ideas for upcoming projects.
This past weekend i shot a pilot for Panasonic's latest attempt to break into the skateboarding scenes with their "Share the Air" marketing campaign. My brother casey turned me onto the idea a few weeks back. after thinking about it for a few days i started putting together story boards and shot lists and before i knew it we had assembled a small crew and we got the concept completed. shooting with friends and working on a video project was so much fun. everyone involved gave of their time freely - and they all went way over the call of duty to get it done. good times all the way around.
I am in the middle of editing the 24 second piece (so little time to sell a concept). i'll post the finished product after i get back from LA - if i can make it come together(!). in the meantime here are a few still from the shoot. special thanks to casey, jeremy, thomas, dave, dan, and rechelle for letting me take a saturday to shoot! |
